NATA 2023 Notification, Dates, Eligibility, Registration, Pattern

  • National Aptitude Test in Architecture or NATA is facilitated by the Council of Architecture (COA). The national level architecture exam is held annually to test candidates’ aptitude and provide them admissions to the 5-year B.Arch. Degree program. NATA 2023 is held in 2 parts, Part A (Maths and General Aptitude – Computer mode) and Part B (Drawing – pen paper mode).
  • The official notification is expected to be published in December 2022. Intermediate graduates or Diploma holders can apply online. The hall tickets/ admit card will be available for download from the official website tentatively in March 2023. Various prominent government and private colleges accept NATA score for admissions. All the aspiring candidates for NATA 2023 can check the relevant information below. The scores of NATA are valid for 2-years from the year in which one appeared.


How many years course is B Arch?

  • It is awarded for a course of study that lasts up to five years. In some cases, a B.Arch can only be undertaken after having completed a three-year generalist architectural degree, in which case, it may be as short as two years.

Is B Arch a professional degree?

  • United States. The Bachelor of Architecture is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) as a professional degree, allowing the recipient to qualify for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE).

What’s the difference between B Tech and B.E ?

  • BE is Bachelor of Engineering whereas B Tech is Bachelor of Technology. The key difference between the two is its course material and its orientation. B.E. is a more theoretical knowledge oriented course whereas B Tech is a practical knowledge-oriented program.

NATA Eligibility Criteria 2023 Important Dates NATA 2023

Before applying for the examination, there are certain parameters that a candidate must fulfill. They are as follows:

  • 10+2 graduates or appearing with Mathematics as a mandatory subject.
  • 10+3 Diploma holders (any stream)/ appearing recognized by Central/ State Government with Mathematics as one of the subjects. 
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of schooling with Mathematics as a compulsory subject of examination.
  • There is no age criterion for appearing in NATA 2021
  • There are not any lateral admission criteria for admission in any stage/year of B.Arch course.
  • There is no relaxation for special category students (SC/ST/OBC)


NATA 2023 Exam Pattern

The examination consists of 2 parts viz.

  • Part A: comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be answered online. It tests candidates on General Aptitude and Knowledge of Mathematics
  • Part B: to be answered on A4 size drawing sheets. It assess candidate’s drawing/ sketching skills.
