Amrita University is a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary research university that is accredited ‘A’ by NAAC and is ranked as one of the best research universities in India. B. PHARM | BACHELOR OF PHARMACY
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) is an undergraduate academic degree to learn and acquire adequate knowledge, necessary skills to practice the profession of pharmacy. The program is a versatile interdisciplinary program preparing graduates with a sound knowledge and understanding of the science, technology and practice of pharmacy. At Amrita, the program follows a semester pattern. The core subjects include Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis (Chemistry of Drugs), Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacy Practice.
PHARM. D | DOCTOR OF PHARMACY
Doctor of Pharmacy is a hospital oriented globally accepted pharmacy program. The course is designed to make the students competent as per the global demand in management of patient medication therapy and improve patient outcomes. The students acquire their clinical knowledge and skills to manage patients with chronic or acute illness, collaborate other health care providers to provide cost effective care, identify and correct drug related issues, educate patients and family members on correct use of medications etc.
PHARM. D| POST BACCALAUREATE
Pharm. D. (Post Baccalaureate) course is a professional pharmacy doctoral program with 2 phases like Pharm. D. of 2 years of study followed by 1 year of internship or residency. Mostly, it is the first professional degree, and a prerequisite for licensing to exercise the profession of Pharmacist. After completion of the course the candidates can work fully as an integrated member of the health care team and help maximize drug efficacy, minimize drug toxicity and promote cost effectiveness.
M. PHARM | PHARMACOLOGY
M. Pharm. Pharmacology helps the student gain knowledge and scientific information regarding pharmacology of drugs, practical aspects of pharmacological screening for various medicinal agents using the animal model, pharmacological calculations, biological standardization, and in-vivo drug interactions and toxicity studies.
M. PHARM | PHARMACEUTICS
Pharmaceutics is the branch of Pharma studies that deals with manufacturing of bulk drugs and the other is formulations related. M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutics program offered at Amrita helps students to become an expert in formulation development, Advanced Formulation Technology, Pharmacokinetc Evaluations, various aspects of Industrial Manufacturing and also important aspects of Molecular Pharmaceutics & Biotechnology.
M. PHARM | PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY
M. Pharm. Pharmaceutical Chemistry course gives necessary orientation and practical training in handling the various quality control and quality assurance techniques related to Medicines and Cosmetics and their Ingredients, Various Synthetic pathways for Medicinal Agents , Structural Modifications , Therapeutics Alteration etc.
M. PHARM. IN PHARMACY PRACTICE
Pharmacy Practice is the discipline of Pharmacy which involves developing the professsional roles of pharmacists. M. Pharm. in Pharmacy Practice offered at Amrita aims to equip the pharmacy professionals with the required skills, attitude and knowledge to become a practicing clinical pharmacist and mould him as an efficient member of the health care team.
PH. D | PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES
The Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences highlights the basic as well as applied research in drug delivery and targeting, utilizing medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacy practice, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, herbal drugs, quality control, nanotechnology, immunology, and molecular & cell biology. This program prepares students for careers in academia and advanced scientific research at a variety of institutions. To achieve this, Amrita School of Pharmacy gives students solid training in the pharmaceutical-related basic sciences and creates an environment in which students can develop into independent and creative scientific problem-solvers.
