Ruparel College was founded in 1952. Its campus occupies 10 acres (40,000 m2) of land in Matunga, an inner suburb of Mumbai. The campus features green landscaping with trees and a botany garden, and is known for its attractiveness. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including Ph.D. programs in chemistry, physics, and zoology, and has an enrollment of around 1,500 students.Ruparel College has been visited by Indira Gandhi, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy (former President of India), P.C. Alexander (former governor of Maharashtra) and Ram Kapse (former Lt. Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands).

  1. Students who pass the Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C.) Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, are eligible for admission to the F.Y.B.A. /B.Sc. /B. Com./ B. M. S. / B. Sc (IT).
  2. Students who pass the H.S.C. or equivalent examination of any other Board must produce an eligibility certificate issued by the Eligibility Section, University of Mumbai, Kalina, Mumbai – 400 098.
