Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences is a constituent medical college of Sikkim Manipal University.

University By 1995 Act – The affiliated university was established in accordance of the Act of 1995 known as Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences Act, 1995.
The aim of the formation of this act is primarily to offer educational opportunity and health services to the population of Sikkim as well as India.
Seats Distribution – The 100 MBBS seats are distributed in quotas – like Sikkim Government quota 20, General quota 34, North East quota 30, Defence quota 1 and NRI / NRI Sponsored quota 15. The PG seats are distributed – Sikkim Government 6, General & North East 13 and NRI / NRI Sponsored 3.
