Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery | BHMS Degree Course
The Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) Degree course is of 4 1/2 years duration plus compulsory Internship of one year after passing the Final Degree Examination. The curriculum consists of following subjects of study and Examination of the BHMS (Degree) Course
- Duration | 4 1/2 years
- Eligibility | A candidate must have passed the two year P.U.C examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent with English as one of the languages and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects to be for eligible for admission to I BHMS Course.
- A candidate who has passed B.Sc. Part-I Degree examination of any University in India or recognized as equivalent with the following science subjects namely Chemistry, Botany & Zoology is eligible for admission to I BHMS Course, provided the candidate has passed the PUC or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as optional and English as one of the languages.
- A candidate who has passed B.Sc. Degree examination of any University in India or recognized as equivalent with the following science subjects namely Chemistry, Botany and Zoology is eligible for admission to I BHMS Course provided the candidate has passed P.U.C. equivalent examination with Physics. Chemistry & Biology as optional and English as one of the languages at the Pre-University or B.Sc. Part-I level.
- A candidate should have attained age of 17 years on or before 31 st December of the year of his/her admission.
- The candidates who have passed the qualifying exam other than PUC-II Science of Karnataka State, should obtain Eligibility Certificate issued by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore at the time of admission to I year of BHMS Course.
Syllabus
I B.H.M.S.| First B. H. M. S. course is of one year duration. Subjects are-
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica.
- Organon of Medicine, Principles of Homoeopathic Philosophy and Psychology.
- Homoeopathic Pharmacy.
- Human Anatomy including Histology and Embryology.
- Physiology including Biochemistry.
II B.H.M.S.
- Second B. H. M. S. course is of 1 year duration after passing the 1 st B.H.M.S examination. Subjects are-
- Pathology, Microbiology, Bacteriology, Parasitology and Virology.
- Forensic medicine & Toxicology.
- Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic Philosophy.
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica.
III B.H.M.S.
- Third B. H. M. S. course is of 1 year duration after passing the 2 nd B.H.M.S examination. Subjects are-
- Surgery including E.N.T, Opthalmology, Dentistry, Orthopaedjcs and Homoeopathic Therapeutics.
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Infant Hygiene and HomoeopathicTherapeutics.
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica.
- Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy.
IV BHM.S.
- Fourth B. H. M. S. course is of one and half year duration after passing the 3 rd B.H.M.S examination. Subjects are-
- Practice of Medicine including Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Skin diseases and Homoeopathic Therapeutics.
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica.
- Case taking & Repertory.
- Community Medicine.
- Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic Philosophy.
Compulsory Rotatary Internship
- Each candidate shall be required to undergo compulsory rotating internship of one year, after passing the Final BHMS examination, to the satisfaction of the Principal of the Homoeopathic Medical College. The candidate shall be eligible for the award of Degree of Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S.) by the University only after successful completion of internship.
- In the event of shortage or unsatisfactory work, the period of compulsory internsip and provisional registration shall be accordingly extended by the college authorities and State Board / Council.
- Each candidate shall complete the internship training within a period of 24 months after passing the final year examination.
M.D Homeopathic – Post Graduate Degree Course
Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi has formulated uniform regulation all over India for M. D. (Homoeopathy) and is governed by amended regulations 2001, C.C.H. New Delhi.College offers Post Graduate Degree Coarse M. D. (Horn.) in
- M. D. (Hom.) in Materia Medica.
- M. D. (Hom.) in Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic Philosophy.
- M. D. (Hom.) in Repertory.
- M. D. (Hom.) in Practice of Medicine.
The course shall be of three years duration including one year of house job, during which the candidate shall be a resident in the campus and shall receive training.

- Eligibility | Candidate seeking admission to M.D.(Homoeopathy)should possess the degree of
- Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the Second Schedule to the Act, after undergoing a course of study of not less than five years and six months duration including one year compulsory internship; or
- Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (Graded Degree) or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy included in the Second Schedule to the Act, after undergoing a course of study of not less than two years duration.
- The university or the authority appointed by Central government or State government shall select candidate on merit for P.G. Course. The preference shall be given to candidates who have worked in rural areas for two years in respect of one seat in each subject as per merit.
