Introduction 

• The extreme shortage of medical facilities in the region, promoted the KLE Society to establish the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Belgaum in 1963.
• The institute will strive to be among the top ten medical colleges in India in the spheres of medical education, research and health care services. Added to this 1000 bed Dr.Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital and three Primary Health Centres and one urban Health centre will be the epicenters of post graduate and under graduate training, wherein patients are treated free and exclusively meant for training the post graduate and under graduate in their basic knowledge and skills.
• KLE Society was established more than 90 years ago in the year 1916 by seven dedicated Teachers (aptly called as Saptarishis) and three Patrons, which has transformed the educational backward region of Northern Karnataka into a fertile land of education. Presently, KLE Society is successfully running more than 205 institutions in the field of Health care (Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Ayurved, Physiotherapy, Nursing Science), Information Technology, Law and many more conventional and non-conventional disciplines.

Eligibility 

• Pass in 10+2 with PCB as principal subjects or equivalent thereto
• Pass in 10+2 with PCB as optional subjects and English as one of the subjects of study or equivalent thereto
• Students who have completed their 10+2 schooling/ II PUC with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their subjects with a pass percentage of no less than 50% are eligible to apply and 40% for reserved category.

Eligibility 

• Graduate in Medicine , Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Nutrition, Life science, Social science, Commerce, Law or any other degree course recognized as equivalent by KLE Deemed University with a minimum of 50% of the marks (aggregate of three/four years for graduate degree holders) prescribed for the qualifying examination. Degree should have been obtained from any University recognized by UGC, established by law in India and medium of instruction should be English. Preference shall be given to candidates from health sciences.
• Students who have passed any degree course (Science, Law, Commerce) of any approved University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
