Introduction

NRI Academy of Medical Sciences (also referred as NRI Medical College) is the first medical academy in Andhra Pradesh, India started by NRIs. It is one of the medical colleges in Guntur District, offering graduate (Masters) and undergraduate (Bachelors) courses in medical sciences. It is located in Chinna Kakani; nearby cities are Guntur and Vijayawada. The academy is affiliated to the NTR University of Health Sciences Vijayawada.
The city of Vijayawada has a population of close to 1 million and a drawing area of close of 2 million people. Non-Resident Telugu physicians hailing from the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh are acutely aware of the need to establish a modern specialty and general hospital in Vijayawada to serve the people of this region. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has made a policy decision to give an Essentiality Certificate to establish atleast one medical college in each district of Andhra Pradesh. By this impetus, a group of NRI Physicians purchased 50 acres of land and established a 750-bed NRI General Hospital and NRI Academy of Science Medical College in Chinna Kakani, between Guntur and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, India.

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery | MBBS

Eligibility | MBBS : NEET

Citizenship | Indian nationals.
Entry Qualification | Any examination equivalent to H.S.C. / (10+2) examination,WITH (PHYSICS,CHEMISTRY,BIOLOGY)of any recognized Board/ University after 12 years of study.
50% in PCB for general category and 40% for reserved category.
Admission Procedure | Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for admission to MBBS courses for the year 2017-18 from amongst the National Eligibility Cum Entrance (UG)
Test (NEET) – 2017 qualified candidates.
Group of Subjects Specified | English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology
Age Limit | The lower age shall be 17 years .The upper age limit may be relaxed by three years for SC/ST candidates.

Post graduate MD/MS

Eligibility | PG MD/MS : NEET

Candidate should have obtained MBBS Degree from a MCI recognized institution.
Candidate should have completed one year compulsory rotating internship after passing the final professional examination before 30th April of the Academic year.
