West Bengal MBBS/BDS Counselling Schedule 2024

Candidates are advised to follow the schedule given below to participate in the NEET 2024 counseling for 85% quota seats in West Bengal.

Reservation Criteria

There is a seat reservation policy is opted by the every private and government college in the state of West Bengal. The seats will be reserved for the SC/ST/OBC/OBC-NCL/PH/Defence Personnel. If the candidate will claim for seat reservation, then he/she will have to produce the relevant certificate.

Document Required

Candidates are advised to bring the original documents along with a photocopy for document verification on the day of counselling.

Is domicile required for private medical colleges ?

Do I need domicile for admission in private medical college of other state? Any body can participate in counselling for admission in any private medical colleges in any state, but only on 85% seats. And you don’t need any domicile for state quota counselling.

How many medical seats are there in West Bengal ?

The government medical colleges offer 4553 MBBS seats, while the private medical colleges offer 5600 MBBS seats.

How many seats are in NEET PG 2024 ?

The counselling is conducted to allot seats to the NEET PG 2024 qualified candidates in 50% seats in All India Quota and 50% seats in the institutional quota.

What is MBBS ?

The Master of Surgery (Latin: Magister Chirurgiae) is an advanced qualification in surgery. Depending upon the degree, it may be abbreviated Ch.M., M.Ch., M.Chir. or M.S. At a typical medical school the program lasts between two and three years. The possession of a medical degree is a prerequisite. The Ch.M. can be awarded on both clinical and academic competency or on academic competency. The regulations may ask for surgical experience and a thesis topic that is not purely medical.
