- Qualifying marks: Candidates must score minimum 50% marks for general category and 40% for reserved category in the qualifying exam. NEET 2026 cutoff: Karnataka MBBS application form of only NEET 2026 qualified candidates will be accepted.
- To get admission into MBBS program in India, students have to complete their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry & Biology and score minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of reserved category). Student’s age should be between 17 years to 25 years.

While the overall state capacity sits at 15,395 seats, they are assigned using two distinct counseling paths:
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ): Filled centrally via the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
- 85% State Quota & Private Management: Conducted locally by the [Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA)](0.5.7, 0.5.14). Out of the KEA counseling pool, seats are distributed as:

- The National Medical Commission (NMC) has replaced the Medical Council of India (BoG-MCI), as per information released by the Health Ministry on Friday. The government dissolved the MCI in 2026, replaced it with a BoG, which was chaired by Dr. VK Paul, member (health), NITI Aayog.
