What Is Difference Between aerospace Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering ?

  • The two types of aerospace engineers include aeronautical engineers (They work with aircraft that stay within the earth’s atmosphere such as airplanes and helicopters.) and astronautical engineers (They work with aircraft that operate outside of the earth’s atmosphere such as rockets, satellites, and other and

Aeronautical Engineering

Aeronautical engineering is the practice of designing and building aircraft, like airplanes and helicopters. Students earning a degree in aeronautical engineering take classes such as:

  • Thermodynamics
  • Heat Transfer
  • Aircraft Structures
  • Flight Mechanics
  • Aircraft Stability and Control

Aerospace Engineering and Astronautics

  • On the astronautical side of aerospace engineering, professionals design and build units like space shuttles and space stations. In addition to the aeronautical engineering courses listed above, students earning a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering will take astronautical courses like:
  • Spacecraft Design
  • Introduction to Astronautics
  • Fundamentals of Jet Propulsion
  • Spacecraft Dynamics
  • Orbital Mechanics

Is aerospace and aeronautical engineering the same thing?

  • Aerospace engineering is made up of Aeronautical Engineering and Astronautical Engineering. Astronautical engineers work with aircraft that operate outside of the earth’s atmosphere such as rockets, satellites, space vehicles and spacecraft.

What is aeronautics and astronautics engineering?

  • Aerospace engineering is the primary field of engineering concerned with the development of aircraft and spacecraft. It has two major and overlapping branches: Aeronautical engineering and Astronautical Engineering.

Is Aerospace Engineering a good career?

  • Yes Aerospace Engineering is a Good choice to enhance the career in the Aviation Industry. Aerospace engineers typically do the following: Direct and coordinate the design, manufacture, and testing of aircraft and aerospace products.

Job Opportunity In India ?

  • Aerospace Engineering basically deals with the study of objects operating above the Earth’s atmosphere.
  • The subjects that you would learn during the bachelor’s course in Aerospace Engineering are:
  1. Aerodynamics
  2. Aircraft structures
  3. Flight Dynamics
  4. Strength of materials
  5. Space stability
  6. Astrodynamics
  7. Control systems
  8. Propulsion
  9. Thermodynamics and Fluid mechanics
  10. Vibrations and Theory of elasticity
  11. Aircraft materials and composites
  12. Space systems
  13. Computational fluid dynamics(Elective)
  14. Digital signal processing(Elective)

The scope of Aerospace Engineering depends on which area you want to specialize in. Like as follows

  1. HAL (Mostly Aircraft Structures)
  2. NAL (Aerodynamics and Materials)
  3. ISRO- Well ISRO does not have a separate recruitment for Aerospace engineers, you’ll have to look into materials, electronics and structures.
  4. And there are private companies like GE, Honeywell etc.

Where all can I work?

  • As everyone here mentioned right, you can work in government sector with ISRO, DRDO, HAL, etc. And then we can look at private companies such as L & T, Godrej & Boyce aerospace, Boeing, Airbus, Mahindra etc
  • You can also go for Indian air force and Indian Navy.

Salary Scopes

  • Although my recommendation is never settle after Bachelor’s in Aerospace, this is a very vast stream and Master’s is kinda mandatory. A Bachelor’s pay scale may range between Rs.20,000–45,000/month. However a Master’s can actually increase the pay by about 3 times.
